Info & Media

The Tourist Authority of Thailand is a key resource with a good website.

The country’s main English-language daily newspaper, the Bangkok Post is a useful way to keep track of Thailand’s volatile politics and upcoming events.

Most hotels have cable TV channels, which offer a variety of news, sports and movies.

All the major guidebook companies, such as Lonely Planet and Rough Guides, produce a guide to Thailand, but printed guides are often out-of-date in terms of accommodation and restaurant recommendations.

Thailand is popular as an exotic setting for films, including The Hangover II, Bangkok Dangerous, and of course, The Beach.
