Kids & Families

Thailand is a great destination for both kids and families as there are so many sights and activities that appeal to young and old alike. There’s little in this app that children won’t like, but here we’ll mention a few of the more popular destinations and activities for kids and families.

Let’s start with festivals. Songkran is the time to get wet, so buy your kid a water pistol and let them soak everyone—toddler bliss!

Most of Thailand’s beaches are safe for playing on the sand and swimming, especially those on Ko Samui, but watch out for red flags warning of dangerous currents.

Everybody loves elephants and the elephant camps dotted around the country offer the chance to get up-close and personal with these gentle giants. The best camps are located around Chiang Mai, which also has a well tended zoo, with pandas, lions and flamingoes.

For wildlife watching without walls, head for Khao Yai National Park, where you’re likely to see elephants, deer, gibbons and hornbills.
