Spanish-style nougat
Spanish nougat produced from honey, sugar, egg white and almonds which is made into a block and eaten as a Christmas treat.
The two main types are turrón duro or turrón de Alicante which is hard and crunchy and turrón blando or turrón de Jijona which is soft and crumbly.
There are also chocolate, coconut and truffle varieties, with new flavours such as coffee and yoghurt coming on the scene each year.
