Vizcaína

Basque-style sauce

Bacalao a la Vizcaína y su característica salsa de pimiento choricero.

As the name would suggest, this sauce comes from the Basque region.

It is usually used to accompany fish dishes, in particular bacalao (cod) and the most popular recipes include pimiento choricero (dried choricero peppers), onion, olive oil, flour or breadcrumbs and tomatoes.
