Salsa brava

Spicy sauce

Most commonly used to make the Madrid speciality tapa of patatas bravas, salsa brava is a deliciously spicy sauce with every bar and restaurant having its own individual take on the ingredients.

Key ingredients include pimentón (paprika), onion, flour, chicken stock and olive oil.

Many bars say they were the first to produce the sauce with Las Bravas in Madrid lays claim to the authentic recipe.
