Pimentón

Paprika

Made from the powder of dried red peppers, pimentón provides a stand-out flavour to many emblematic Spanish dishes.

The most renowned pimentón comes from La Vera in Extremadura.

The two main varieties are dulce (sweet) and picante (hot) and are used to give the distinctive flavour to cured meat, sauces and classics such as pulpo a la gallega and patatas a la riojana.
