Dundee & Around

Once famed for "jam, journalism and jute" Dundee fell on hard times for the last fifty years-or-so of the 20th-century, but is showing signs of regeneration.
V&A Dundee
Today, the much celebrated V&A Dundee (daily 10am–5pm; free) has breathed life into its waterfront with a stunning design museum by Japanese architect Kengo Kuma. Inside surprisingly small and busy, but slick exhibition spaces reveal the work of Scottish designers in many areas of life: from fashion design to cycling technology.
Discovery Point, Verdant Works & DCA
Next door, Discovery Point, is equally interesting for the story of the British Antarctic Expedition, while and the Verdant works, provides a good insight into some of the local history in an old Jute Mill.
