Waman Machu Picchu

Best value for the view

Waman Machu Picchu Standard Dining Room

In most respects, the Waman Machu Picchu Standard is a good value, nice hotel. The rooms are nice but unremarkable. The beds are very soft though the bathrooms are small. The two things that made me love it were that I slept with my window open so I could listen to the river all night and the dining room is fantastic.

The dining room is the top floor and is glass-walled so you feel like you’re outside in a treetop. I was fortunate to be visiting Machu Picchu with a friend who likes to sleep in late and I had a long breakfast where I watched dozens of birds flying by as I had seconds and thirds. The view all around is steep canyon walls, coated in jungle. The breakfast buffet was great, considering the price. The coffee is very good but not quite as good as Inkaterra.

There is also Waman Machu Picchu Suites, which I haven’t stayed at yet.
