Fantastic spa with a river view
Casa del Sol is one of the hotels along the river that really takes advantage of the view over the water and of the jungle-covered cliff rising from the river. The rooms are not big but they are a good value for the price and the larger rooms have a private jacuzzi overlooking the river.
Though the jacuzzi was tempting, I went for the downstairs spa, which has a patio just above the river. The salt water of the private spa pool feels fantastic, especially after a long day hiking around Machu Picchu.
The website claims that it is a 4* but in Cusco it would be a 3*. If you want a good view of the river, comfortable beds, a fantastic spa and to go out to a restaurant for dinner, then this is a good choice.
My only complaint about Casa del Sol was that their dinner service was extremely slow.
