Working Holidays

Working at Hotels

Digital nomads, short term remote work, and volunteer holidays are on the rise. Here is what you need to know for how and where to work in Peru.

Digital Nomad Guides

This 2021 Digital Nomad Guide to Cusco has some great information, but needs updating. (It recommends The Meeting Place, which closed in 2019 and was replaced by Xapiri, a great café but not a good coworking spot). This 2022 Remote Worker Guide for Cusco has better information about housing but the 2021 guide has more information for calculating the cost of living.

This 2021 Digital Nomad Guide to Lima has great information. The author has very accurate descriptions of Lima’s vibe, neighborhoods and safety considerations. I’m not convinced the author of this 2022 Digital Nomad City Guide for Lima ever worked in Lima as her information is quite generic. The 2021 guide has better information.

Inflation

Peru has been experiencing inflation, so take that into consideration when estimating the cost of living as a digital nomad for 2023 or 2024.

Coworking Spaces

Visas for workers

Tourist visa vs. worker visa

Volunteer Vacations

Evaluate carefully
