Callejón de Huaylas Towns

un viaje hacia la ciudad de yungay , lugar donde ocurrio un gran terremoto en 1970 en ancash peru

The Callejón de Huaylas is the valley that stretches northwest from the town of Huaraz and separates the Cordillera Blanca from the Cordillera Negra. The towns are small and all walkable.

Yungay is the most famous, as the site of a tragic earthquake in 1970. Many towns have excellent ice cream shops but the town that really goes all out on ice cream is Carhuaz.

Most travelers stay in Huaraz and visit these smaller towns as short stops on tours headed to hikes and glacial lakes.
