Château de l'Anglais

The Englishman's Castle

This impressive folly built by the Englishman Robert Smith, a colonel in the British Army, between 1856 -1858. Inspired by his time in India its Neo-Mughal architecture is partly based on the Delhi Red Fort.

Later owned by a Polish family it was eventually converted into a condominium after WW2 and in 2000 it was given the status of a Historical Monument.

The Château is a private residence but you can get a good view Boulevard Carnot.
