La Croisette

Cannes' famous Boulevard

Cannes and la Croisette are as synonymous as Nice and the Promenade des Anglais. Mention either place and people will associate each town with its famous boulevard and indeed no trip to either place is complete without at least a short stroll along them.

La Croisette, sometimes known as a Boulevard and sometimes as a Promenade, is like its counterpart in Nice, a busy dual carriageway and care should be taken when crossing. It stretches about 2km/1.25m along the Mediterranean shore from the harbour in the west to the Pointe de la Croisette in the east and it known for the grandeur of its famous buildings.

These include the Palais des Festivals et des Congrés, where the Film Festival is held, magnificent five star hôtels such as the Carlton and the Majestic, not to mention the many exclusive designer boutiques and sumptuous restaurants.
