Our Touch, your Travels…

This is a preview of the full content of our Newcastle’s Best app.

Please consider downloading this app to support small independent publishing and because:

  • All content is designed for mobile devices and works best there.
  • Detailed in-app maps will help you find sites using your device’s GPS.
  • The app works offline (one time upgrade required on Android versions).

The app will also allow you to:

  • Add custom locations to the app map (your hotel…).
  • Create your own list of favourites as you browse.
  • Search the entire contents using a fast and simple text-search tool.
  • Make one-click phone calls (on phones).

Transport

While most places in Newcastle can easily be reached on foot, it may be necessary to use the very comprehensive public transport system especially if your accommodation is outside the city.

Buses & Metro

Newcastle is well served with buses run by Quaylink and trams of the Tyne & Wear Metro .

Why not check out our entry for the Quaylink 'Q' Buses which are particularly suited for exploring the centre and the Quayside if you'd rather not walk and serves most of the neighbourhoods described in this app.

NOTE: The Q Bus does not serve the Western part of the centre i.e. the West Walls, Blackfriars or Chinatown.

Taxi & Uber

Taxi services are plentiful and relatively inexpensive – if you have a Uber app you may prefer to use this.
