Walks for Kids

You’ll never be short of a place to go for a fun family walk or hike anywhere in New Zealand.

Some points to remember:

  • Weather in New Zealand can be extremely changeable, especially in the mountains - be prepared with warm gear and some form of rain protection, especially on longer walks.

  • Kids can tire quickly. Be prepared with snacks and drinks. Hydrate well, and snack early and often.

  • Don’t get overly ambitious when it comes to length of walks, especially with smaller kids.
