Wynyard Quarter & Viaduct Harbour

Dining & drinking precinct

Auckland Skyline from Wynyard Quarter

Kiwis are immensely proud of the country’s amazing sporting history and this part of town links its success to those of America’s Cup Team NZ and the All Blacks.

The Viaduct Harbour, only 300m west of the downtown Ferry Terminal, got a major makeover for the 1999/2000 and 2003 America’s Cup events – while the Wynyard Quarter got its sprucing up in time for the 2011 Rugby World Cup, and became home base for teams competing at the 2021 America’s Cup.

What was a dilapidated port area is now a vibrant area featuring super-yachts surrounded by restaurants, bars, upmarket apartment buildings and hotels.

The Viaduct is linked to the Wynyard Quarter by the Wynyard Crossing bridge, making this a great area for a stroll.
