Waterfront drive, cycle path, aquarium & beaches
Tamaki Drive runs along Auckland’s eastern waterfront from the city out to the beach suburb of St Heliers. The 8km route passes a number of beaches and yacht clubs along the way and offers stunning views of the harbour and Rangitoto Island.
The beaches are popular swimming spots for Aucklanders – Okahu Bay, Mission Bay, Kohimarama and St Heliers - while as well as the road, Tamaki Drive has a dedicated cycle lane and is also popular with walkers, runners and skaters.
Mission Bay and St Heliers have villages with cafes, restaurants and shops just across from the beach.
SEA LIFE Kelly Tarlton's Aquarium is just east of Okahu Bay and this entry’s map location.
