Tui Brewery

Brewed in Mangatainoka since 1889

Tui Billboard

Kiwis have been enjoying Tui’s “Yeah right” marketing campaigns for years and this is a chance to visit Tui HQ, do a bit of beer tasting, check out the brewery on a tour and even partake in pub-style fare from the kitchen.

Make no mistake, this isn’t craft beer, but the ubiquitous Tui brand, now owned by behemoth DB Breweries, but brewed in Mangatainoka since 1889 – you can even buy something Tui-esque from the one and only Tui shop.

The catch is that Tui HQ is way out in the middle of nowhere (perhaps that’s a little unfair) on State Highway 2 in tiny Mangatainoka, 42km east of Palmerston North. If you’re driving on SH2 between Wellington and Napier, you’re on track to stop here for lunch.
