Queen Charlotte Track

70kms in 3-5 days or just a day-walk

Queen Charlotte Track

Walk or bike the spectacular 70km from historic Ship Cove, Captain James Cook's favourite base in NZ during his three voyages, through to Anakiwa in the Grove Arm of Queen Charlotte Sound.

The track crosses both private and public land and offers unsurpassed views of the Queen Charlotte / Tōtaranui and Kenepuru sounds.

The full track will take 3-5 days to walk, but ease of access means you can drop in and just do a day-walk. Study the DoC brochure for your options, including mountain biking the track. Boat transfers can be organised from Picton.
