New Zealand has a great range of accommodation from cheap backpacker hostels right through to luxury lodges.

The best way to find and book accommodation is via search engines such as Trivago and We have some places listed on this page, but that is because they are interesting places in interesting locations, not necessarily the best places to stay in NZ.

Budget offerings include camping, holiday parks, hostels, homestays (Airbnb and the like), farmstays and motels & pubs.

Mid-range options include bed and breakfasts and a few chain hotels, mainly in larger towns and cities.
