MIT List Visual Arts Center

Art is everywhere

Sol LeWitt Floor

The List Visual Arts Center isn’t exactly found in a single building. It takes in temporary gallery exhibitions in the I.M. Pei designed Wiesner Building, as well as the public art collection located throughout the MIT campus.

Some works are sculptural, some are architectural, and some are neither (Sol LeWitt’s floor — Bars of Color within Squares — I’m talking about you!).

Henry Moore

Definitiely look for Alexander Calder’s Big Sail, Alicja Kwade’s upside down clock Against the Run, and Frank Gehry’s space-defying architecture of the Ray and Maria Stata Center.
