Queechee Gorge

Vermont’s Grand Canyon

Queechee Gorge, VT

The “Grand Canyon of Vermont,” plunges 165 feet into the Ottauquechee River.

After admiring the natural wonder, think about how this dramatic sight was formed by glacial activity 13,000 years ago.

The site is perfect for leaf peeping in autumn, when the cliffs flame with color. In summer, it’s possible to take a dip at the bottom of the trail.

Nearby, the VINS Nature Center is excellent for birdwatching.

King Arthur Baking has a much beloved cafe and sells, surprise!, baking supplies.

Livin the Dream Alpaca Farm is for those who can’t resist petting farm animals.
