Haven Brothers Diner, Providence
Murder Burgers at 1:00 am
Before there were food trucks, there were horse-drawn lunches.
In 1888, Anne Philomena Haven, a widow, began serving meals in downtown Providence from just such a vehicle.
Today, Haven Brothers Diner occupies a stainless-steel food truck that serves chicken tenders, burgers and dogs, milkshakes, and other American fare in the wee hours of the night.
The Murder Burger (a massive burger with all the toppings) is its most famous offering, while others opt for the Garbage Plate. R
ound it out with a Fried Oreo.
