Olneyville N.Y. System, Providence
An I-ate-too-much institution (l,d; $-$$)

Legendary old-school diner known for its NYS hot wieners. Gritty, loud, vinyl booths, open late.
ONYS serves small veal-and-pork sausages in a steamed bun, topped “all the way” with mustard, minced onions, celery salt, and their signature seasoned meat sauce.
The staff lines the wieners up along their arm to dress them, which is part of the show.
Get three small wieners in special buns the traditional way and wash them down properly with a signature Rhode Island bevvy: coffee milk. Add a side of fries with vinegar.
Now you’ve really been to Providence for that I-ate-too-much feeling.
