Umberto’s
Pittsburgh Italian Trattoria (d; $$)
Umberto’s serves homemade bread and family style bowls of white bean soup, tomato/onion salad and pasta. These are famous accompaniments for every entrée. The really gigantic chops, steak or osso bucco are large enough for two, although an extra charge is applied for sharing. (Otherwise, everyone would just eat the salad and pasta without ordering individual entrees.)
Expect to find big groups of loud golfers and happy people having a good time over bottles of house wine and traditional pasta dishes also. It’s an experience as well as a fine meal. Reservations are suggested during prime time.
It’s a non-smoking venue, as are all restaurants and bars in North Myrtle Beach.
