Bus

Rapid & integrated with metro

Metrobus

The rapid transit Metrobús system has seven lines with routes running through downtown and along the city’s main avenues, such as Paseo de la Reforma and Avenida Insurgentes. Rechargeable smart cards can be purchased at bus station entrances and can be used for the Metro as well.

Turibus, double-decker buses with hop-on/hop-off service, visit iconic sights such as the Basilica de Guadalupe, the Teotihuacán pyramids and the Ángel de la Independencia.

An electric-powered Trolebús line plies Eje Central, a main downtown thoroughfare. For info on the city’s 100-plus bus routes, visit the RTP website.

Green-and-white mini-buses, known as peseros, are being phased out but you’ll still see some zipping around town.
