Rooftop bar with top views
Seven floors above Place Abdelmoumen, the Sky Bar at La Renaissance Hotel offers great panoramic views of Marrakesh. Entry is via the hotel lobby, where you can take an elevator to the 7th floor.
Atop Guéliz's central junction, the bar affords views down Avenue Mohammed V all the way to the Koutoubia. On a clear day you can see the white-tipped Atlas Mountains gleaming along the skyline. It's particularly spectacular at dusk, when you can watch the lights gradually come on across the city (you can't see the sunset exactly, as it's behind the hotel, but you can see its effect on the city).
Drinks here are not the cheapest in town (beer from 60dh, cocktails pricier and not very good), but prices compare well to other upmarket bars, and the view is what you come here for. Since it became popular, various other hotels have opened up their own "sky bars" in imitation.
The hotel is not particularly recommended as a place to stay.
