Chez Lamine Hadj Mustapha

Mechoui, tanjia and more (l,d; $–$$)

Chez Lamine Hadj Mustapha

Chez Lamine Hadj Mustapha is the downtown branch of Mechoui Alley's most popular mechoui and tanjia joint.

While the food here is every bit as good as it is in the restaurant's original Medina branch, this Ville Nouvelle branch has the advantage of being brighter and more comfortable to eat in.

Chez Lamine Hadj Mustapha

Of course they do mechoui and tanjia (see our page on Mechoui Alley for more on those), at 200dh/kg and 160dh/kg respectively – a quarter kilo should be enough for one person. The mechoui sells out quite fast however, so get there early if you want some.

There are sheep's heads too (70dh per head), or you can also get a tajine – be it chicken, lamb, liver or brain – or a sandwich, or a grill. On Fridays there's couscous.
