Jump into the middle budget range and you’ll find yourself staying in better Business Hotels - plus bringing a whole plethora of unique Japanese-style options into play.
These include staying at traditional Japanese-style inns called Ryokan (with meals included), at Pension in resort areas, and even at Temple Lodgings and remote Mountain Huts. Most places that include meals charge on a per person basis.
A new kid on the block is the Vacation Rentals option and though minpaku, as they are called in Japanese, are everywhere, associated problems have garnered much publicity, creating a somewhat negative image amoung the general populace.
