Mt Yōtei 羊蹄山

Ezo-Fuji (Hokkaidō’s Mt Fuji)

ミルク工房からの羊蹄山

Yōtei-zan is known as Ezo-Fuji (the Mt Fuji of Hokkaidō), and like the real Mt Fuji, is spectacular when seen from afar. The winter views of snow-covered Yōtei-zan from the ski slopes of Niseko are hard to forget.

If you’re going to climb 1898m Yōtei-zan though, you’re going to need some physical and mental fortitude. While the trail itself is relatively easy, you’ll be climbing and later descending 1670 vertical metres, meaning you’re in for a long 9-10 hour day. Be suitably prepared!
