Shoshone Point

Magnificent views, no crowds

Dream of experiencing the magnificent splendor of the Canyon without the non-stop commotion of dozens to hundreds of visitors?

You can if you’re willing to walk one and one-fourth miles through peaceful ponderosa forest dotted with wildflowers. Shoshone Point isn’t marked, only a dirt parking lot.

The picnic tables, pavilion, and bathroom are for reservation only but anyone can walk around the locked gate and experience the South Rim at it’s best. Located at milepost 244 just east of Yaki Point.
