Paignton Zoo

Discover hundreds of creatures in spacious grounds

Meerkat 0616 1320

The 2500 animals at Paignton Zoo range from reptiles and meerkats to rhinos and big cats. It’s spread out over 80 acres in a series of attractive, landscaped enclosures.

Highlights include crossing the swinging bridge into Lemur Woods, watching the antics on Baboon Rock, admiring the elegant Northern giraffes and being awed by Sumatran tigers, Asiatic lions and cheetahs.

The zoo is part of Wild Planet Trust and a global network that cares for and breeds rare species. It also works to safeguard protected areas, including those in Tor Bay.
