Costs

Fiver

The strength of the British Pound (GBP) could make the biggest difference to foreign visitors, but even then Devon and Cornwall can be fairly expensive by UK standards – especially in the summer.

  • Budget – £30/person/day Camping or staying in hostels, rarely eating out, walking and visiting mostly free sights

  • Average – £70–80/person/day Staying at B&Bs, eating out once a day, seeing the full range of sights

  • Higher-end £160+/person/day Fairly smart hotels, meals at a range of restaurants and seeing plenty of sights

Note that traveling solo is likely to raise any of these per-person-costs by at least a third for all except budget travellers.

Tipping

Nice but rarely essential
