Cafes & Takeaways

‘Takeaways’ dot both Rarotonga and Aitutaki, and are a bit of a misnomer, as they don’t just do food to takeaway, often having a few picnic tables outside. All are well-frequented by locals and inevitably make good budget options with most meals in the $8 to $15 price range. Portions are generous!

There are a number of cafes too. These are generally aimed at the visitor market, often offering inside as well as outside seating, a pricier menu and often have a WiFi hotspot. These cafe-style places abound, with meals in the $15 to $25 range. Cabinet food at relaxed cafes will cost less than that.
