Aitutaki Market

Visit the locals' market

The local Aitutaki market runs from 6am Mon-Sat, but the highlight of the week is Saturday morning.

Try to get there early. There are all sorts of goodies for sale, such as fresh fruit and vegetables, sticky cream donuts, rolled sushi - and as the fishermen head out on Friday nights with the market in mind, fish (hopefully!). Bring cash.

You may be tempted to a ‘grilled flying fish’ and cassava breakfast (see image). Eat with your fingers.
