Church Services

A Sunday church visit, as in many island countries in the Pacific, is a cultural highlight, observing the locals in their Sunday best and listening to the enthusiastic singing and harmonies.

While there are churches of many faiths, the largest on the Cooks was originally established by the London Missionary Society (LMS) and is now now known as Cook Islands Christian Church (CICC). There’s info on the history at CICC@wikipedia.

CICC churches are generally built of white coral and limestone and are a great source of pride in their communities. There are churches all over the islands as these google map links to Churches in Rarotonga and Churches in Aitutaki show.
