Café Sol

Cocktails & TexMex (l,d; $$)

Café Sol is consistently the liveliest place in The Gap – even on a wet Tuesday evening in low season. The bright tablecloths, colourful lights and scenic setting – overlooking the bay – all make for a convivial atmosphere.

Decent quality TexMex reigns supreme: burritos, tacos, enchiladas and fajitas with an array of salads, black beans and dollops of sour cream and guacamole. The so-called ‘gringo menu’ adds burgers, steaks and wings to the list. And the kitchen stays open late.

The daily cocktail specials (2x1 all day) as well as the more general happy hour (5–7pm) and an endless list of margaritas ensure that Café Sol’s vibrant bar scene is as much a draw as the restaurant, attracting Barbadians and tourists alike.
