Information & Media

Tourist info, events guide & local media

Tourist information

Although the Barbados Tourist Authority has an office at Warrens, they are not particularly geared up for tourists to drop in. Their official website, however, is an excellent source of information. Other useful websites include Go Barbados and Totally Barbados.

Otherwise, most hotels offer information at reception, or in a file in your room, while the larger resorts have an activities desk, which can provide you with all manner of information and book tours for you.

Events guide

For events and activities on the island, check the events page on the government Visit Barbados website. Events are also advertised in the national press.

Local newspapers

For a flavour of local news, check the free online local daily Barbados Today or pick up a copy of The Daily Nation or The Advocate (a pro-government brief) – the country’s main newspapers – on sale in or outside the supermarkets or by the roadside, catching morning commuter traffic.
