Stevie Ray Vaughan Memorial

Pride and Joy

Stevie Ray Vaughan Statue in Austin

A revered musician, Stevie Ray Vaughan was widely considered to be one of the most talented guitarists of all time.

Tragically, the Austin bluesman died in a helicopter crash in 1990 at the age of 35. He had been awarded three Grammy awards – and an additional two posthumously – at the time of his untimely death.

In 2000, he was inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame. Tracks from the solo albums Family Style and The Sky is Crying along with those recorded with his band Double Trouble, Couldn't Stand the Weather, Soul to Soul, Texas Flood, and Live at Carnegie Hall are radio mainstays.
