Walking Tours

York lends itself to exploration on foot. The city offers a number of different kinds of general or themed guided tours.

General Tours

Guided tours are adapting to provide socially distanced experience. At present, regular commercial walking tours are offered by local firm York Tour. The information office will have current information about the frequently changing walks and providers.

York Tour uses local guides and provides bespoke tours for individuals, families and groups. Charges for up to 6 people start at £80 for an hour. Book via their website

Specialist Tours

For example: Essential York, Roman York, Secret York, Snickelways. are often available. Details from the information office.

Ghost tours are generally in the evenings.
