The Costa del Sol is on a quiet street a block up from Plazoleta Regocijo and a 5 minute walk from the Plaza de Armas. They remodeled the former mansion of the Marquis de Picoaga to make a modern hotel. The rooms are generic but comfortable. The furniture in the lobby is also generic modern. If you want something with character, go elsewhere - unless you travel with your pet.
This is one of the very few pet friendly nice hotels in Cusco. They also have a few rooms with handicapped showers and amenities. This is very hard to find in Cusco, so if you need an accessible bathroom, put Costa del Sol at the top of your list.
My favorite part of this hotel is the wine cellar, where a friend of mine got married. There is a great event space downstairs, adjacent to the wine cellar. I haven’t had the standard breakfast buffet but their catering for the wedding was fantastic. The
