Waiheke Island Beaches

Sun-soaked sand everywhere

Onetangi Bay, Waiheke 05-02-2009 10-46-51

If you’re not on Waiheke for the wine, chances are that you’re there for the pristine beaches – and there are some stunners. The best beaches are north-facing and are popular swimming spots in summer.

Little Oneroa Beach

Oneroa Bay and Little Oneroa Beach sit side-by-side, and are within walking distance of the main village at the western end of the island. Little Oneroa is perfect for families with BBQs, a children’s playground and a sprawling grassy area.

Palm Beach & Onetangi

Palm Beach is a couple of kilometres further east, while around the same distance still further east, you’ll find Onetangi, a long, 2.5km white-sand beach near the middle of the island that features convenient bars and restaurants near the water's edge.
