Roys Peak Hike

Big climb near Wanaka for 'that selfie' (6hrs)

Roys Peak Track 008

Instagram has made Roys Peak a worldwide star and many make the climb just to take ‘that selfie’. The gruelling climb to the peak at 1578m is 1220 vertical metres from the carpark, though that ‘selfie spot’ is about three-quarters of the way up.

Be well prepared with warm gear, especially if the weather is looking dodgy. Take plenty of liquids and drop in to the DoC Wanaka Visitor Centre for track updates.
