Mountain biking is extremely popular, and of late, bicycle shops have struggled to keep up with orders for electric bikes. Many people cycle to work, especially in Auckland and Christchurch, where you’ll find dedicated bike lanes.

By law, you must wear a helmet when riding a bike.
