Tipping

For services and guides

Old cash register

Cafés and restaurants

For waiters or waitresses in a restaurant, it's always best to pay it to them directly. A typical tip might be 10–15%, or just round up to the next big number (so, if your bill is 260dh, for example, pay 300dh directly to the server and let them keep the change).

People usually tip servers in cafés, although it might depend on what the bill is and what change you happen to have on you, but 1–2dh per person is fine.

Cafe

In hotels

A typical tip for a bellboy or porter who carries your bags to your room is around 20dh. For chamber-makers, you might leave around 100dh per room per week; it's best if you can pay it directly into their hands – some people even slip it into the pillowcase so that only the chamber-maker will find it.
