Cool, upmarket café (b,l,d; $$$)
16 Café is a cool café on a bright new plaza at Place du 16 Novembre, where Avenue des Nations Unies meets Avenue Mohammed V.
Truth to tell, 16 Café is rather pricey, but it's a big cut above your typical Marrakesh café. For a start, they do some extremely delicious pastries, not to mention tiramisú (32dh) and tarte tatin (35dh).
If you don't mind paying a bit over the odds, this is also a great spot for snacks and salads (salade niçoise 85dh), burgers and quiches (cheeseburger 110dh), all served in clean, modern surroundings.
You can even lunch or dine here, and the food is good, but this is more a place to stop for a break, and particularly to sample their pastries, which really are superb.
