Argüelles & Moncloa

Parque del Oeste

Northeast beyond Plaza de España lie the elegant districts of Argüelles and Moncloa, around which the verdant Parque del Oeste and the barrios of Chamberi extend out towards the university campus on the outskirts of town.

Sights include the fascinating hoard of memorabilia in the Museo de Cerralbo, the stunning pre-Colombian exhibits housed in the Museo de América. There terrace bars close to the Parque del Oeste are a favourite summer retreat for many and you can also take the cable car out to the Casa de Campo too where you can find the zoo and attraction park. A few kilometres out of town lies Franco's former residence, the Palacio de El Pardo.
