Airport

Aeropuerto Madrid-Barajas Adolfo Suárez (MAD)

Barajas Airport (Madrid)

Getting into town from the airport is straight-forward with fast and efficient Train, Bus and Metro links from the main terminals.

Metro

Going by metro is the easiest way in from the airport with Line 8 taking you in from Terminals 2 and 4 to Nuevos Ministerios station, just north of the city centre in around 20 mins. You will need to buy a tarjeta multi transport card for €2.50 and then pay €1.50 plus a €3 airport supplement. Alternatively you can purchase the tarjeta turistica from €8.40 a day.

Bus

The yellow Línea Exprés buses run every 15-20 mins from each terminal and take around 40 mins to reach the city centre stops at Cibeles and Atocha (cost €5).

Train

There is a local cercanias train line from T4 (daily 6am to 11.30pm) into Chamartín railway station which takes just 25 mins.

Taxis

Taxis (white with a red diagonal stripe) are always available and charge a fixed tariff of €30 (including airport supplement) to get into the centre.
