Central Greece In-A-Weekend

Highlights of the ancient world - plus some coast!

Delphi

It’s best to take at least a weekend, even three days to explore Central Greece, but if you’re short on time and have seen Athens In-A-Day, then it’s possible to see some of the best of Central Greece’s destinations in a day too.

The following drive is about 505km and take around 8hrs; with around 220km on Day 1; 285km on Day 2.

The drive from Athens to Delphi takes about 2.5 hours (185km). This leaves just about enough time to do “Day 1” below before the drive back, if you’re determined to do it as a day-trip. But an overnight trip is much better and will make things a lot less rushed and tiring.

Day 1: Morning

Drive along the National Road in the direction of Lamia. At the junction of Thebes, follow the direction to Levadia and continue towards Arachova and Delphi.
