Transport in Zagreb

Comprehensive & efficient

Ban Jelačić Square

While the sights of central Zagreb can be easily tackled on foot, public transport presents the best way of accessing the sights further out. Trams represent the easiest way of getting around and will take you to most of the sights mentioned in this app; buses come in useful in the outer suburbs.

Zagreb is increasingly bike-friendly with a growing number of marked cycle lanes; nextbike operates a network of bicycle-rental stations around the city.

Airport

Zagreb’s Franjo Tuđman airport is the biggest in the country, located 1km south of the city at Pleso. Buses run by Pleso Prijevoz run from the airport to Zagreb’s central bus station 7 days a week, roughly every half hour from 06:00 - 21:00, after which bus departures are timed to coincide with plane arrivals.
